Flanges

A flange is an item that is used to hold 2 ends of a pipe together and in many cases they act as an intermediate support between a series of pipes in union. All of us would have noticed this item being used in our homes, offices, industries and other places. They in fact deserve a great deal of importance for the use they are put into. Speaking about flanges, there are quite a few varieties of it that are used in different situations and come in different sizes and shapes depending on their usage.

The most common types of flanges are the ones used to hold 2 ends of a pipe that are threaded from inside so that the pipe fits in perfectly. Certain types of flanges have a supporting system that holds the end of the pipe from below. We often use them in our homes to fit curtain rods and they do look great indeed!! We have one variety that is made out of steel and is mostly used to hold heavy pipes and the other type is the plastic flange that is used to hold lighter pipes made out of aluminum. It can easily be found in any hardware store across the street and the cost depends on the make and the brand.
