Not all of us have the perfect body shape and size and this fact can be felt at garment stores while buying a new one. The reason why we say this is because not all of us fit into the standard dimension and very often we end up altering a garment to either suit the length or the breadth. Many of us would have experienced buying a new garment and getting it altered to suit our body size and shape.
Every garment stores these days have an alteration unit attached to it and their only task is to alter the garments according to the customer’s size and shape. When we buy a garment from a store and request it to be altered, it is taken to this alteration unit where our measurements are taken and entered into a book or a two part alteration tag that will be assigned a number. These two part alteration tags are an important part of a store and they have a set of fields that are common to all stores like customer name, type of garment, measurements etc. These tags can either be bought as a readymade one or can be customized to suit the store’s requirements.
